How the Ecliptic Moves Daily

Below is an animated .GIF of 3 days, one frame at a time representing one hour, of how the ecliptic moves or “wobbles” in the sky.

The image is of the whole sky with north, east, south and west on the top, right, bottom and left sides.  The yellow dotted line near Venus and Saturn represents the ecliptic.

The series of images below were generated using the free sky charting software Halo Northern Sky planetarium software available at the Halo Northern Sky Web Site.  The .GIF was generated using other software.
